I am happy to guide you and your loved ones through the challenging life stages surrounding pregnancy(ies). I support you in trusting the (resilience) of your body and in navigating the changes in your life that come with expecting a child. I do this with knowledge and experience, as well as a good dose of humor and perspective. After working as a sailor and studying history, I have been a midwife since 2002 and have worked in all areas of Amsterdam and its surroundings. In addition to providing midwifery care, I also place IUDs. I live with my family: Frank, our two teenage daughters Tessa and Roos, our flat-coated retriever Guusje, and seven chickens. When I’m not working, I enjoy sailing and hiking, and I love spending time in quiet places in nature.

I think empowering people during their transition to parenthood is one of the best parts of my job. Personalised care is my priority. After working in Amsterdam-Oost and IJburg for several years, I also leapt to the beautiful city of Weesp.

Outside of work, you can often find me in the water and I also love cooking.

If you and your partner can look back on a wonderful pregnancy and birth with a good feeling, I have done my job well. With more than 10 years of experience, I coach and guide mothers-to-be to gain confidence in their own bodies and abilities.

I do this not only as a midwife but also as a brand-new mother.

As a Madame Maman, I also give foot reflexology massages. Be kind to yourself.

I was born and raised in North Brabant, but I moved here for my midwifery studies. During my studies, I met my husband Rutger, and we are now proud parents of Willem and Saar. These days, you can always find me in the ultrasound room. I perform all the obstetric ultrasounds, including the 13- and 20-week scans.

There is a good chance you will get me on the phone when you call us. As coordinator, I make sure everything is taken care of. From practical matters to support for the midwives.

I also teach pregnancy classes and rent out
birthing accessories at B-Prepared and you can visit All4Mum for nursing bras.

As a child I always wanted to become a midwife, but at the time arranging and organizing attracted my attention more. After working as a producer in the events industry and setting up other fun projects, I have now ended up in maternity care! As an assistant, my two passions now come together perfectly.
